Hoda Kotb officially finished Jennifer Lopez’s 10-day no-sugar, low-carb diet—and she definitely didn’t hold back on celebrating.
Hoda’s been looking forward to celebrating Super Bowl Sunday ever since she started the challenge. “Can I tell you what I’m dying for? Super Bowl Sunday,” Hoda said in a confession video for the TODAY show. “I’m gonna be like a hog in a trough; I’ve been waiting for this.”
So, when Super Bowl Sunday finally came around, she marked the end of her diet challenge with some serious snacks at cohost Al Roker’s house. “What are you going in for?” Al asked Hoda in a video she posted to Instagram. “I’m going [for the] guac and a chip,” Hoda replied.

“Oh my god. Nothing’s better than right now,” Hoda said after downing the chip—and before washing it down with what looked like a margarita.
While, yes, Hoda definitely enjoyed that chip after 10 long, low-carb days, she said the challenge was a “fun ride” overall. In a confession video for the TODAY show, Hoda said “I’ve got more energy, I feel more energetic, I feel like I’m more alert.”
The challenge has also motivated Hoda to adopt a lower-carb, lower-sugar lifestyle long-term. “I do think I’m going to cut down on carbs and sugar,” Hoda said. “I don’t think I’m going to cut them out completely, but I think I’ll cut down because why not feel better?
Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Hoda. She documented her struggles with the 10-day challenge along the way, saying that day six was the hardest of them all. “There’s nothing to eat,” Hoda said in another confession video, adding that all she was eating on the diet was “chicken and vegetables, day and night—and eggs.”
But she made it! Now, here’s the real question: Will Hoda start the challenge back up again when J.Lo does?
