    Hi there,

I have to say, when I work out I love listening to music – it “puts me in the right zone”. And I know some people might find it odd, but I enjoy listening to Jazz, it works for me. Thanks for the post 🙂

      Hi Gaylene,
Jazz, that’s interesting, but nothing wrong with that. Whatever gets you going. Different strokes for different folks. Keep it up!

I think it’s important to create a playlist of your favourite tracks; my playlist gets me through my workouts and runs.
Some of the bands/artists I listen to are:
    – Nirvana
    – Joy Division
    – Foals
    – Wolf Alice
    – Jamie XX
    – Metallica

Surprised you mention 5 Finger Death Punch…I saw them at Reading this year!

      Hi Josh,
Thanks for sharing your list! It really depends on your taste in music, because just about any music is good for exercising. Well, maybe not love music or something that is sad. Don’t need to be depressed when you are trying to work out. Cheers!!!

thanks for the post,i’ve normally done my ‘workouts’ without music, but now will give it a try. i find that different music puts me in different moods.jazz or classical is way different to heavy metal.i’ll see what works.

      Hi Greg,
Yes music can motivate and inspire you while you exercise. I personally like to listen to pop and modern rock when I’m working out. However, the choice is always yours.

  4. Jason says:

I don’t really listen to pop or modern rock when I work out. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and rap music. I love listening to some Joey Bada$$ or Dr. Dre. I love throwback music too. Anything with the same tempo and beat is alright for me.

      Hi Jason,
There’s really no wrong type of music to exercise to. Well maybe except for sad music. Music is a great motivator, and I like having it in the background. It lifts your mood and can improve your workout. Thanks for the positive feedback.

Music is a must while I work out. I have driven back home from the gym simply because I have forgotten my earphones. lol. Even when I go on walks in the woods, I have to have music available, but I usually don’t listen to it while in the woods. So yes, music is great while working out and would definitely recommend to anyone.
My go-to music while working out is
Progressive house: Gai Barone, Guy J, Solid Stone, Alex Di Stefano, Basi O’ Glue
Most of these producers have 1 hour long mixes so it works all the time.

      Hi Vini,
You can tell a lot by a person by the music they listen to or not. LOL, it just a matter of taste! I don’t look too much into what type of music people like. Thanks for sharing your playlist. Keep it up!!!
